Sharif flown to Karachi for trial
Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, was flown to Karachi from an undisclosed location late Saturday night to stand trial on charges of treason and kidnapping, according to an international news agency which quoted unnamed official sources.
India is avoiding Kashmir -- Pak
Pakistan's military ruler General Pervez Musharraf has accused India of "avoiding" a discussion on Kashmir and termed New Delhi's seeking deferment of the SAARC summit in Kathmandu on the ground of the military takeover in Islamabad, as "violative" of the SAARC charter.
Centre calls high-level meeting on J&K
The high-level meeting on Kashmir by Union Home Minister L K Advani will take stock of J&K situation with reference to two main points -- Its crumbling economy and the chinks that have reportedly surfaced in the unified command's armour.
