Gangster held at Bhandup

November 14: Notorious gangster Rakesh alias Vasant alias Surya was arrested in Bhandup (west) on Sunday afternoon. The 30-year-old gangster, wanted in a number of extortion cases, was arrested by inspector Vijay Shinde near the Surya Hotel at Bhandup around 3.30 pm. A countrymade revolver and one live round has been recovered from him.Wanted by the Park Sit, Bhandup and Juhu police stations, among others, Rakesh has been named in two dacoity cases, one attempt to murder case and in a number of other extortion cases.
