Kids party at PGI paediatric centre
A party was held to celebrate Children's Day for the 180 children admitted in the Advanced Paediatric Centre, PGI.The children were distributed food packages and treated to a magic show by Kulvinder, the magician. The party was organised by the concerted efforts of advocate Munisha Gandhi, Ruchika Majithia and Tanisha Peshawaria. The entire project was managed through the donations received either in cash or kind. The children also got to spend time in two playrooms filled with toys, games and swings.Seminar on diabetes
A seminar on different aspects of diabetes mellitus was held on Friday as a part of third annual conference of the Chandigarh Chapter of the Patiala Medical College Alumni Association. Alumni awards were given to Dr S.S. Sidhu (medical teacher), Dr R.L. Mittal (academic excellence), Dr R.S. Parmar (social excellence) and Dr B.D. Gupta (reform in medical education). Dr S.K. Bhandari of Sector 16 General Hospital was confered a special award. Dr Joginder Singh, Director, Health Services, UT, was elected as the next president of the association.
The speakers included Dr Murlidhawan, Dr M.R. Dogra, Dr B.K. Chopra, Dr S.K. Parbhakar. The seminar was attended by 200 delegates from the city and adjoining states.
