Treat for classic music buffs

PANCHKULA, Nov 14: It was a real treat for the classical music buffs at the Gandharva Maha-Vidyalaya in Sector 10 here tonight. The show was attended by a large audience.

The programme was organised in the memory of Pt Ramesh Chander Dutt, the founder of the Vidyalaya.

The programme took off with a "Vandana" by the students of the Vidyalaya and then it was a scintillating performance was rendered by Swarit Verma who presented the "tabla vadan".

A vocal classical rendition given by Aditya Sharma in "raag kalyan" impressed the audience and the "gandharva vrindgaan" (choir) by 17 members left an indelible imprint on the audience.

The atmosphere changed as Harvinder Sharma presented "sitar vadan" in "raag bageshwari" and "raag bhairvi" accompanied by tabla player Pawan Verma.
