SAS NAGAR, NOV 15: The cattle menace and garbage dumping problem of the township will be solved soon.Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA) Additional Chief Administrator Depinder Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate O.P. Popli and Municipal Council Executive Officer Brar, in a meeting held today, decided that the Council EO will talk to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation for a permanent resolution of the problem and the SDM will coordinate with the Forest and the Animal Husbandry Department in this regard.
The process will be completed within one week, after which the cattle will be driven out of the MC limits by loading them in the PUDA and Council trucks. The cattle will only be caught during the night and not during day as that might lead to accidents and traffic hazards, sources said.As per another decision taken at the meeting, the three-member team will visit the garbage dumping site suggested by the Council and submit their report regarding the same to PUDA, which will then take the patch of land on lease for a period of one year.
