Co-operative bank branch inaugurated

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDNAGAR, Nov 15: The eleventh branch of The Dwarkadas Mantri Nagri Sahakari Bank, Beed was inaugurated here recently at the hands of Cabinet Minister for Housing Rohidas Patil. Also present on the occasion was the Minister of State for Irrigation Balasaheb Thorat, who presided over the function.

In his presidential address, Thorat congratulated the bank for its foresightedness. He said that a person alone can do nothing without co-operation. It is needed at the regional, state and national level in order to lead the country towards progress. Rohidas Patil in his speech lauded the people in the district for their efforts in co-operative movement.

He said that Ahmednagar was the epicentre of co-operative movement. The policies of SS-BJP combine had badly affected the State's economy and every effort would be taken to ensure its recovery. The coffers of the State were empty and the value of the rupee had depreciated. The common man should be taken into account while going in for economic development. Different schemes would be put up by the State Government to ensure speedy economic development, he added.

While talking to the press Rohidas Patil said that the present Democratic Front would last for five years. The projects launched by the previous Government would be reviewed. The Government would extend its full support to the policy of privatisation, which was coceptulised by the Congress Government in the past, he added.

Balasaheb Thorat evaded questions on the issue of burning of transformer at Songaon due to which the citizens of Ahmednagar were facing acute power shortage.
