Youth held for murder in Bhandup

November 16: A twenty-five year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of his sister-in-law at Bhandup (West) on Monday evening. According to the police, Bharat Singh Thakur is suspected to have murdered his sister-in-law, Asha Devi, in 1995 at their residence at Motiram Bhoir Chawl in Tursat Pada. He had gone underground after the killing, police added. However, following a tip-off, police arrested Thakur from a hideout near a container yard at Sonapur in Bhandup (West) on Monday.Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
