Seven injured in fire

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Nov 16: Seven persons, including four children, were injured on Monday when a fire broke out due to illegal vending of solvent and kerosene by one Babubhai Marwadi. Marwadi, who also sustained burns, has been booked under violation of Section 3/6 of the Essential Commodities Act.

Three children and Babubhai are undergoing treatment at the Shardaben Hospital. Marwadi has sustained 60 per cent burns, while the children have sustained minor burns. Condition of all four patients were stable, hospital sources said.

Fire brigade sources said the fire was caused due to some spark. A house and the solvent shop were in a single building near the Hojwali Masjid in Gomtipur, sources said. Four children, aged between five and eight years, who were playing in the neighbourhood got burns in the fire along with two women, police said. A rickshaw and a Kinetic Honda scooter were also damaged in the fire.
