One held for embezzlement
The Special Crime Branch of the city police arrested Hari Om Bansal, working as an assistant with the Haryana Printing and Stationery Department and charged him with embezzling lakhs of rupees. Earlier this year, the Haryana Printing and Stationery Department had lodged a complaint, following which the police registered a case against five persons. Some employees had also been suspended said police sources. Bansal is the first person to be arrested in the case.Liquor seized
The police have arrested Babloo of Saharanpur district and recovered 12 bottles of whiskey from his possession. He was held from Kashmiri Sarai in Bapu Dham colony. In a separate case, the police recovered 90 bottles of whiskey, reportedly lying unclaimed in two boxes, at Sector 17 ISBT on Monday evening. Separate cases have been registered the Excise Act.
Scooter stolen
Punjab University's hosteller Ajit Pal Singh has reported that his scooter (PB-04-D-0922) has been stolen from the university's Law Department. The police have registered a theft case.
1 held for duping
Joginder Pal of Kishangarh village has been arrested for allegedly duping people of several lakhs of rupees on the pretext of sending them abroad. The Manimajra Police have registered a case.
