Rights of Muslim woman to be discussed

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Nov 16: The rights of a Muslim woman is the topic for a conference to be held in the city on November 20. Organised by the All India Progressive Muslim Conference, the get together will see participants from all over the country to discuss the perceived anomalies of the personal rights of a Muslim woman.

Speaking to reporters in the city on Tuesday morning noted author and activist Razia Patel said that Muslim women's issues had been neglected for too long.

According to the members of the Conference, a number of Islamic countries had already introduced reforms to uplift the condition of women. But this had not been followed up in India.

The two day conference takes off on November 20 and will see participants from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and other states.
