Gill will no match for Supreet skill

Express News Service
november 16: Dhiraj Singh of Jodhpur, seeded fifth in the Open event, was forced to concede to A Chonker of Services in the 56th Indian Express CCI Western India Open Squash Tournament at the Cricket Club of India today.

The scores were level at 1-1 and Dhiraj was down 4-7 in the third when he had to quit. Chonker now faces Navneet Narain in the quarter-finals. Manish Chotrani, Anshul Manchanda, Navneet Narain, Anuj Kalia and Gajendra Singh Rathore have retained their positions, none dropping a game while moving into the quarter-finals.

Supreet Singh of Otters Club fought back to reach the pre-quarters of the boys' under-19, snatching the match from club-mate Anurag Gill. After losing the first game 7-9, Supreet was up 9-8 matchball when he lost his serve. The next two points were awarded by him to Anurag, finding himself stranded between the ball and the opponent for referee to do the rest.
