State may set up task force on investments

MUMBAI, NOV 17: The Maharashtra government will set up a high-powered task force which will constantly liasion with the business community to facilitate investments in the state, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said today.

``The task force will comprise of representatives of industry associations, businessmen and government officials,'' he said while welcoming the investors and industrialists to invest in Maharashtra at a seminar - New millennium investment opportunities in Maharashtra - organised by All India Association of Industries (AIAI).

``We will give a red-carpet welcome to the investors,'' he said. The new Democratic Front government will remove lacunas and problems faced by the business community. We want to be more responsive and the bureaucracy will render all help to the business community,'' he said. ``We would give no chance to complain and I want action.''

``Come with an idea, concept or proposal, we are always ready to help you out,'' he said and asserted that the state will again topthe map in terms of industrialisation and the government was making all efforts in its pursuit. ``We once again want to repose confidence among the mind of investors and the business community to invest in Maharashtra,'' the Chief Minister said.

Deshmukh pointed out that the government would constantly interact with the business community and try to solve their problems. ``I assure that our side would be responsive,'' he said amidst applause by a huge audience of businessmen and investors.
