Book lovers meet in city
The 43rd Book Lovers Meet will be organised at the Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Limited's Corporate Office Auditorium on Thursday at 6 p.m. As part of the National Book Week celebration, the National Book Trust, Book Lovers Forum and Narmadanagar Community Centre have jointly organised a talk in the evening on ``Role of books in coming millennium''. Noted writers and poets of Gujarati literature are expected to participate.

Acupressure
A 10-DAY-CAMP on Acupressure for women has been organised at 20-B-Arunodaya society from Wednesday. Problems like arthritis, back pain and paralysis would also be treated during the camp. The camp would be held from 4 pm to 6pm.

Diploma course
The 30th batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Export Management conducted by Indian Institute of Export will begin from November 24. Interested candidates may contact on 362570 or at Prestige Complex, opposite Suraj Plaza in Sayajigunj.

Inaugurated
Briosys Private Limited, a new software house, was inaugurated at Haribhakti Extension on Old Padra recently. Its Managing Director Vinay Patel claimed that his company was capable of handling projects on the latest software development tools and technologies.

Celebrations
Shree Ayyappa Temple, Sama will be celebrating this year's Mandalam days from Wednesday. During these days, Udayasthamana pooja and other religious discourses would be organised.

`Replace pipes'
Ahmedabad:
AMC has appealed to the residents of the nearly 2,000 hutments in the city to get their sub-standard drinking water pipes changed by the corporation. According to municipal health officer Dr P K Makwana, the Corporation has made an offer to replace pipes for the residents of all chalis without charging any labour fee. ``They just have to provide their own material which will cost them not more than Rs 300, depending on the distance from the Corporation pipeline to their own house.'' said Dr Makwana.
