Kashyap heads selection panel

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
Chandigarh, Nov 17: Senior Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Ajay Kashyap will head the committee to recruit 120 constables for Chandigarh Police.

The police said 10 deputy superintendents of police, 20 inspectors and other staff have been deployed for the recruitments. The six-day recruitment process begins on November 24.

The highlight of the recruitment will be the video recording of the whole exercise. UT Inspector General of Police S.K. Singh, when contacted, said that this was being done to ensure fair and impartial recruitments. In all, 10 counters are being set up for the recruitments, each of which will be handled by a DSP, who will be accompanied by a sub-inspector and an assistant sub-inspector. The last date for submitting applications for the post of constables was December 16, 1998. Since then, the recruitments have been scheduled at least thrice and every time they had to be postponed for "administrative reasons."
