PUNE, Nov 17: The civic administration has moved a proposal asking permission for major reallocation of budgetary provisions involving Rs. 6.90 crore to facilitate repair works of major roads and bridges in the city.The proposal, prepared by Development Engineer (Roads), has said that reallocation of funds had been sought only where the sanctioned amount was not expected to be utilised by the end of current financial year. The administration's proposal is unlikely to be opposed by the general body. Standing Committee chairman Arun Dhimdhime hinted that the suggestion was not bad if the budgetary provisions were not expected to be used.
The proposal has asked for Rs 65 lakh from the Rs. 5.63 crore which was sanctioned for road constructions in 38 merged villages. The amount has been proposed for parking lot near Phugewadi octroi post. The budget has made provision of Rs. 50 lakh for shifting of pipe lines on Nagar road, Jail road and Alandi road. The administration has sought Rs. 45 lakh from this provision which would be used for repair works of Alankar bridge, Sangam bridge and widening of Firodia bridge near Engineering College.
The proposal has sought Rs. 2 lakh for parking lot near old Bopodi octroi post, Rs. 4 lakh for parking lot near Alka talkies, Rs. 3 lakh for parking lot near Sambhaji garden, Rs. 2 lakh for parking lot between Dengle bridge and Shivaji bridge and Rs. 2 lakh for parking lot in Revenue Colony on Jangli Maharaj Road.
The other major works, proposed through reallocation are a subway on Pune-Satara road (Rs. 20 lakh), approach road for bridge connecting Vitthalwadi and Karvenagar (Rs. 8 lakh), widening of Pune-Ahmednagar road (Rs. 5 lakh), construction of road connecting Kalyaninagar and Wadgaon Sheri (Rs. 5 lakh), strengthening of Sangam bridge (Rs. 40 lakh), widening of Pune-Mumbai road (Rs. 40 lakh), asphaltation of Jaykar Road (Rs. 20 lakh), asphaltation of road opposite Hotel Blue Diamond (Rs. 5 lakh), widening of Jangli Maharaj Road (Rs. 5 lakh). The administration has also proposed that the deducted amount of a particular work would be provided for the work in the next civic budget.
