PPCC panel to probe police excesses

CHANDIGARH, NOV 19: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh has constituted a three-member committee to inquire into the cases of police highhandedness in Faridkot and Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituencies during the parliamentary elections. Headed by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Ramesh Singla, the committee would have S.S. Shergill, chairman, Legal Cell, and Sukhdev Singh Chhina as members.Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Lakhwinder Kaur Garcha said the committee has been asked to submit its report within a week.

Shriram subsidiary launches oil saver set
PATIALA: Shriram Pistons and Rings Limited formally launched its premium oil saver DVM ring set on November 17. U.K. Jhamb, general manager, said the company is the preferred choice for the use of original equipment by leading vehicle and engine manufacturers in India. He said the DVM engine ring leads to 40 per cent reduction in oil consumption.
