Jammu and Kashmir recorded their second one-day win over Delhi in four years, a three-wicket triumph, in their concluding Wills Trophy one-day qualifier at The Kotla here today. The loss, however, made no difference to Delhi who have already qualified for next year's Wills Trophy.Delhi made a decent 237 for six in the stipulated 50 overs, thanks to a 121-run stand for the fourth wicket between Mithun Manhas (90: 5x4, 100b) and skipper Ajay Sharma (63: 6x4, 68b). J-K achieved the target with two balls to spare.

CHANDIGARH: Young all-rounder Yuvraj Singh's excellent performance (42 & 3-25) paved the way for Punjab's easy 71-run win over Haryana in the final North Zone one-day league match at Gurgaon today. Punjab finished with the samepoints as Delhi but since they lost to Delhi, will take second spot. Brief scores: Punjab 220-7 in 50 overs (Yuvraj Singh 42, Pankaj Dharmani 53, Rakesh Saini 34) bt Haryana 149 in 41.1 overs (Jasbir Singh 42, Navdeep Singh 3-22, Yuvraj 3-25).
Pandey, Yadav prop UP
NEW DELHI: Skipper Gyanendra Pandey (98 batting) and Jyoti Yadav (57 batting) helped Uttar Pradesh reach 247 for four on the first day of the Central Zone league match against Railways today.

Wicket controversy
JAIPUR: Madhya Pradesh, who need an outright victory over hosts Rajasthan to qualify, were 109 for 3 at close on the opening day of the Central Zone match. The start was delayed by three hours due to a controversy over damaging the wicket. Hosts Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) lodged a protest with the match referee that Madhya Pradesh players intentionally damaged the wicket during fielding in the precedingone-dayer. MP skipper Rajesh Chauhan alleged the hosts havd played a foul by watering the wicket.
