Adams passes test, Ganesh still doubtful

Associated Press
PORT OF SPAIN, NOV 19: West Indies A captain Jimmy Adams passed a fitness test on his troublesome left knee yesterday ahead of the opening Test match against India A starting here.

India A fast bowler Dodda Ganesh will have to wait to see if his strained right thigh has recovered enough to allow him to play. The 26-year-old bowled during net practice yesterday, but manager Surinder Khanna said a final decision will be made on Ganesh's status on the morning of the match.Adams joined the West Indies A team workout after coming through a strenuous test conducted by physiotherapist Ronald Rogers in scorching morning heat.

``Both myself and the trainer were quite happy with the results,'' the 31-year-old Adams said after the net practice. ``To be honest, I left Jamaica knowing that everything was OK because I had basically gone through the paces before I had left home.''

Adams, a veteran of 37 Tests, hurt tendons in his left knee on the West Indies senior team's One-day tour of Sharjah, in the United ArabEmirates. He has not played competitive cricket since, missing the recently concluded regional limited overs tournament, the Red Stripe Bowl.

The Jamaican left-hander will join the West Indies senior team for their winter tour of New Zealand after the first of two a team Tests between these two teams.

Adams says he is confident in his players.
