Tough measures for population control -- Advani

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
ROHTAK (HARYANA), NOV 21: Union Home Minister L K Advani on Sunday said the Government was considering "tough measures" to control the burgeoning population of the country and hinted at a review commission for the Constitution.

"Debate is going on in the government about it and strict measures to control the population are in the offing," Advani said addressing `Shakti Sammelan' of Haryana BJP workers here.

The growing population is hampering the country's economy and "if immediate brakes are not applied, the future of the nation will be not a healthy one," he said.
