Booty worth over Rs 2 lakh stolen in separate incidents

PUNE, NOV 21: Valuables and cash worth Rs 2.15 lakh were stolen in three incidents of housebreaking in Shivteerthnagar and Ideal colony in Kothrud area on Saturday afternoon.

The thieves broke the locks of a flat at Sunita Park in Shivteerthnagar and decamped with valuables worth Rs 1.27 lakh. The owner of the house Shreekant Chitanman Pangarkar had left his residence in the evening between 6 and 8 pm when the theft occured.

In the second incident, the thieves broke the locks of a flat owned by one Sanchin Kanekar at Ideal colony and stole valuables and cash worth Rs 23,450. The Kanekar family had left the house at around 10.45 am to attend a wedding. The theft came to notice when they returned late in the evening.

The thieves also broke into a neigbouring flat and walked away with valuable and ornaments worth Rs 64,450. The Kothrud police have been investigating the case.
