Honda to set up scooter plant in Haryana

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA  
NOVEMBER 23: Honda Motor Co Ltd of Japan, the largest two wheeler company in the world signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) today for setting up its state-of-the-art two and three-wheeler manufacturing facility at Manesar, in Haryana.

The MoU was signed by Hideo Tanaka, director, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (Pvt) Ltd and Dr Harbakhsh Singh, MD, HSIDC.

The project will be owned and operated by Honda's newly-incorporated wholly-owned subsidiary Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (Pvt) Ltd, which had been approved by Foreign Investment Promotion Board in August, 1999.

The new project will represent Honda group's project for the next millennium and undiluted and concerted financial and technological commitment.
