Los Angeles: The commission that oversees the Los Angeles police DEPARTMENT believes it has found a way to make money from one of the country's best-known police forces. The city's police commission is planning to license the department's logo to Hollywood and clothing manufacturers by next year, hoping to generate royalty revenue. Dean Hansell, a member of the commission, said that clothing and memorabilia manufacturers would need a license from the department to use ``LAPD'' and would be charged a portion of the profits from sales of suchitems.
