PANCHKULA, Nov 23: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to refund Rs 57,525 deposited by the complainant, along with interest at the rate of 10 per cent per annum from the date of deposit till actual realisation and further pay a sum of Rs 1,000 as costs of proceedings. The complainant, Ashok Kumar Goyal, a resident of Sector 10, had stated that initially, Sanjay Kumar Jain was allotted a plot in Sonepat which was subsequently transferred in the name of the complainant, for a tentative price of Rs 2,30,100, out of which the complainant has already paid Rs 57,525 towards the price of the plot.
The complainant further stated that he had been requesting HUDA to deliver him possession of the plot, but even after a lapse of more than six years from the date of allotment of the plot, its possession has not so far been delivered to him.
In reply, HUDA alleged that though the complainant had paid Rs 57,525, the plot in question had been resumed because HUDA did not receive any request from Sanjay Kumar Jain for possession and he failed to make payments of the instalments for which he was served with a number of show cause notices.
