Calling kids
``Every child is gifted with a special skill and talent. That hidden talent can help the child become a somebody some day. And we help him achieve that l,'' says Suchita Kudale of Entre Nous, who has organised a kids' workshop in theatre, Creative Dramatics. ``The objective is three-fold: development of imagination, building self-confidence, a healthy release of emotions,'' she emphasises. Role plays, miming and ex-tempore, basics of acting, characterisation and role preparation are also taught. The kids can join two batches - eight to 11 years; and 12 to 16 years. And well-known theatre personalities have been invited -- Sanjana Kapoor, Boman Irani, Mahabanoo Kotwal and others. Details on 604784.

Be there
If the Channel V Veejay Laila Rouass is going to be right beside you and that may bring out the animal in you. So let it. At 1000 Oaks, this Friday. You can blow your trumpet like an elephant or croak like a frog. Or buzz like a bee. Just singalong. Who knows? You might just end up on the sun-soaked beaches of the Bogmallo Park Plaza, Goa, next summer because that's what the top prize is. Brought to town by Jaws Events, prizes await the guy who does the maximum knee bends, for the worst singer..., so you don't have to be a good to take part.

One for the road
What would you do if you were stuck in a traffic jam? First, hem and haw. And if it lasts for more than a few seconds blow your horn and refuse to take your thumb off the button. And if the road does not clear by then, begin cursing loudly. Anything but smile, much less share a smile with other road users. Did we say smile? Sure. That's what commuters using the Maldhakka road on Tuesday morning during peak hour and stuck in a chock up did. We can hazard a guess for their pleasant countenance. For, along the road, prancing about were hundreds of sheep. Herded by the Dhangars, who struggled to keep them in line, the flock caused the bottleneck. Keeping in rhythm to an ancient seasonal migration, men and sheep were heading for greener pastures. Touched by a glimpse of rustic life, no one complained about being held up.
