St John's-26 lift title

CHANDIGARH, Nov 23: Fine batting by Karan Dhanoa (47) enabled St John's High School-26 beat Yadavindra Public School, SAS Nagar, by three wickets to lift under-10 title in the Edmund Rice Inter-School cricket tournament at St John's School today. Hosts St John's lads in their innings scored 108 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing seven wickets. Karan Dhanoa with 47 runs was the main run getter for the team. Ishandeep Singh got two wickets for YPS. Earlier, YPS in their innings scored 105 in the stipulated 20 overs. Gurkeerat knock of 35 runs came to a naught when other batsmen failed to score.

Gurkeerat Singh (YPS) was declared the best all rounder of the meet. Kirat (YPS) and Karan Dhanoa (St John's-26) were adjudged best bowler and batsman, respectively.
Brief scores: YPS: 105 for 9 in 20 overs (Gurkeerat Singh 35, Simerpreet Singh 10, Rahul Bakshi 2 for 11, Saranjeet Singh 2 for 12); St John's-26: 108 for 7 in 20 overs (Karan Dhanoa 47, Ish Dhand 14, Ishandeep Singh 2 for 11).
