Kapadia was summoned to the court to give a statement on alleged tax evasions made by her husband. She did not remain present but her counsel Prenov Bhadheka urged for exemption on the grounds of work assignments abroad. Kapadia's counsel told the court that the actress -- named as partner in Khanna's Ashirwad theatre -- was willing to make a statement on the next occasion.
