PUNE, Nov 24: A jeep plying on the stretch of Pune-Nashik road between Narayangaon and Manchar plunged in the Ghodnadi river near Kalamb village, about 70 kms from here, under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night.Despite rescue operations by the Manchar police and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Fire Brigade, none of the commuters on board could be found till late in the evening.
Apparently, the jeep was heading toward Narayangaon. The incident came to light when the residents of a nearby hamlet noticed oil in the river. The jeep was retrieved with the help of a crane summoned from Ale Phata Investigations revealed that the jeep belonged to Dattoba Shete from Narayangaon.
