Survey 1999 of the global emerging markets has found CLSA to be the best fund managers in India. The annual survey uses weightings to paint a more realistic picture and uses year-on-year comparisons. CLSA has also been ranked as the top fund managers in China, Indonesia and Singapore. Dresdner Kleinwort Benson came second followed by HSBC, ABN-Amro and Morgan Stanley-Dean Witter in the case of India.

The aim of the survey is to provide an ongoing set of equity research, sales, trading and investment banking of the largest global emerging market companies. The survey is part of the Tempest family of surveys covering worldwide equity markets and focuses on the $778 billion global equity market.
