VARANASI, NOV 28: A master plan has been drawn up for expansion and development of the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple, under which one of the spires of the temple would be covered with gold.Chief executive officer of the temple C P Tiwari told newsmen here on Saturday that Rs two crore would be spent on the gold covering of the spire, the covering will consume 50 kg gold. Two spires of the temple are already covered with gold.
He said 50 houses in about hundred metre area around the temple would be acquired for the expansion of the temple, and temple trust had already purchased several houses for this purpose.
The lanes leading to the temple would also be widened. Tiwari said devotees and other citizens would be requested to contribute to the fund for this project.
