PUNE, NOV 28: A 58-year-old man was beaten to death in Khadki by some of his neighbours after they presumed that he had raped a 10-year-old girl residing in their locality last night.The deceased was identified as Chandrakant Sakharam Kale who was severely thrashed by eight youths from Khadki bazaar area, the police said.
According to the police, the youths presumed that Kale had raped the girl residing in the same locality. The police have arrested all the youths who beat Kale. ARRESTED: The Bhosari police last night arrested Amar Baburao Wagh (26), a member of a criminal gang in Mumbai, and recovered a country made revolver and two live cartridges from him.
The police after interrogation detected that Wagh was wanted in several serious offences including murder and extortion cases in Mumbai.
The police received a tip-off about Kale who was waiting in a hotel in Bhosari area. PSI Kailas Pingle, Raghunath Rasal along with head constable Johny D Mello, and constables Babanrao Thitte, Umeshrao Chandgude reached the hotel and nabbed him while he tried to escape.
