JAMNAGAR, November 29: Crude oil handling operations of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at its single buoy mooring (SBM) at Vadinar has been suspended following orders of the Gujarat forest department following an oil spillage at the Nararbet national marine park there.According to forest department sources, the investigation team, led by park director R C Pal, has submitted its report on the oil spill near the park on the Jamnagar coast, to Chief Conservator of Forests G A Patel.
The repair works on the sub-sea pipeline near IOC's SBM might have resulted in the leakage, Patel said.
Meanwhile, a senior IOC official told newsmen here that following the suspension orders, two crude vessels were lying anchored in the mid-sea since last four days.
He told newsmen, who were taken for a visit to the SBM, that IOC was incurring losses of US $25,000 per day.
