New Delhi, November 29: The family of former naval Chief Admiral S N Nanda today offered Rs. 65 lakh compensation to the kin of victims who were crushed to death allegedly by his grandson Sanjiv Nanda and a lone survivor on January 10 this year in South Delhi.
Sanjiv Nanda's counsel R K Anand told Justice Manmohansarin, before whom a damage suit had been filed on behalf of the victims, that his client was ready to pay Rs.10 lakh to kin of each dead and Rs.5 lakh to survivor manoj in an "out of court" settlement.
Anand, however, sought time till December three tofinalise the damage disbursing programme saying Sanjiv Nanda's father was presently abroad.
Justice Sarin, however, declined to pass any order on theproposed out of court settlement and observed that the trial in criminal case was "separate and the compensation is a different matter".
