Ganesh, Bhawna claim TT titles

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 29: Ganesh Ahuja of Sirsa and Bhawna Sharma of Rohtak won the men's and women's singles titles, respectively, of the Surinder Kaur memorial Haryana state ranking table tennis tournament at Sonipat, according to reports reaching here.

The left-handed Ahuja, a former national sub-junior champion, defeated Jaininder Jain of Faridabad 17-21, 21-12, 22-20, 21-17. In women's final, Bhawana beat Monika 12-21, 21-12, 21-19.

Prasun sparkles
Prasun (4 for 20) helped Nestle beat Gillette by 14 runs to enter the semifinals of KPMG invitational tournament. Prasun was declared the man of the match.

Brief scores: Nestle: 119 for 9 (Hari 21, Ajay 3 for 15, K C Sharma 3 for 23). Gillette: 105 (Aneesh 32, Prasun 4 for 20, Pavel 2 for 21).

HSBC triumph
HSBC defeated Rams by eight wickets in the Reebok Challenge Series. Atin was declared the man of the match.

Brief scores: Rams: 84 (Manish 19, T Kanan 2 for 13). HSBC: 86 for 2 (Atin 32 not out, Ravi Mathur 25).
