Policeman ends life in city
Surat:
Hiralal Namdev Patil (35), a policeman attached to the city police headquarters committed suicide for unknown reasons, the Umra police said. The hanging, partially decomposed body of Patil was recovered late on Wednesday night from his room at block no 9, room no 3, in police headquarters. Post mortem reports stated that he had died three days ago. The Umra police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.

House robbed
A resident of Darbarnagar Society of Katargam complained to the police on Thursday that two persons broke into his house and decamped with Rs 20,000 and gold valuables. Mukesh Rathod told the police that Ramvir Rathod of Lalarekla in Madhya Pradesh and another person entered his house and carried out the theft. The police have registered a case and are investigating further.

Vehicle thefts
Two vehicles, a Hero Honda motorcycle and a Bajaj M 80, have been reported stolen from the Kapodara and Varachha areas, the police said. Madhu Manu Waghasia of Vrindavan Apartment, Purvi Society, in Hirabaug told the police that his Hero Honda Splendor (GJ 5 AK 20) was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment during the night hours. In another case, a Bajaj M 80 (GJ 5 NN 1632) was reported stolen from the parking of Shraddha Complex at Kapodara Char Rasta. Jaisukh Narsinh Ramparia, the owner, told the police that he had parked the vehicle at 11 am and returned an hour later to find it missing. Cases under IPC 379 have been registered.

2-wheelers stolen
Vadodara:
In two cases of vehicle theft registered by the police, a scooter bearing registration number GJ-17-A-4047 worth Rs 4,000 was stolen from Gop Park on Harni Road, while a Sunny moped (GJ-3-F-3231) worth Rs 3,000 was stolen from the M S University compound in the last 24 hours.
