BJP's olive branch to Muslims
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

NEW DELHI, DEC 6: Exactly seven years after demolition of Babri mosque in Ayodhya, the BJP leaders have offered an olive branch to Muslims by calling to observe the anniversary of Babri demolition as Hindu-Muslim unity day.

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, a BJP leader from Bihar, today charged the Congress of trying to incite Muslims against the Vajpayee Government since there were no communal tensions in the country.

Congress had no moral right to rake up the Babri Masjid issue as it was during its regime that the disputed structure was demolished with P V Narasimha Rao as Prime Minister and S B Chavan as Home minister. Indian Muslims have forgotten the issue and feel completely safe under Vajpayee Government.
