RAIGARH, DEC 6: Malaria has claimed 80 lives in the last one month in tribal-dominated villages under the Bilaspur division of Madhya Pradesh.The district collector told PTI here on Monday that the victims hailed from six out of seven districts in the division.
While 21 deaths had taken place in Bilaspur, 14 deaths had occurred in Korba, 15 in Raigarh, 13 in Surguja, 10 in Koriya and seven in Jashpur districts, he said.
Champa Janjgir is the only district in the division where no death due to malaria was reported last month. Adequate arrangements were being made in the six districts to ensure that the disease did not spread further, he added.
