Tripura is fit for Central Rule -- BJP

Express Eews ServiceAGARTALA, DEC 6: The BJP on Sunday described Tripura as a fit case for imposition of President's Rule and demanded an inquiry into the role of Christian missionaries in the state to determine if they ``aid and abet insurgency''.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP leader K R Malkani, head of the two-member party delegation that visited some disturbed areas of the state on Saturday, claimed schools run by Sangh Parivar were being attacked by militants, while those run by missionaries weren't disturbed at all.

Malkani arrived here along with state party MP Rajen Gohain and visited Panchabati in West Tripura, where 18 people were killed by militants on November 14. A memorandum demanding scrutiny of the activities of missionaries will be submitted to the Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and party president Kushabhau Thakre soon, Malkani told reporters.
