CALCUTTA, DEC 13: West zone romped into the final by virtue of their first innings lead as their Duleep Trophy semi-final match against East Zone ended in a draw at the Eden Gardens here on Monday.

Resuming at 174 for one on the concluding day, West rode on a sedate 105 by Abhijit Kale before declaring their innings at 260 for three. Faced with an impossible target of scoring 606 runs in 65 overs, East scored at a brisk pace, helped by a rollicking 185-run first wicket partnership between Shiv Sundar Das (110) and Nikhil Haldipur (79) to reach 249 for three.
