PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

HYDERABAD, DECEMBER 14: The Naxalites of the banned Peoples' War Group (PWG) went on a rampage attacking properties belonging to government and ruling TDP leaders at various places in Andhra Pradesh since late last night even as security was tightened in view of tomorrow's `bandh' call by PWG to protest killing of its three top leaders in an alleged police encounter.

Police said the ultras blasted a telephone exchange with powerful explosives at Nootimadudgu village in Anantapur district to protest the killing of Nalla Adireddy, PWG's central committee member and two others in a police encounter under Tadicherla forest area in Karimnagar district on December 2.

Early today, a group of ultras asked the watch and ward staff of mandal development office building in Kanaganapalli village in the same district to vacate it and blew it off by trigerring explosives.
