Maruti Baleno: Sleek, Silent, Spirited

Sena leader shot dead, two hitmen held
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

MUMBAI, DEC 14: Two hitmen, who were allegedly involved in the killing of Shiv Sena corporator Anita Bagwe's husband Atmaram, were arrested during a combing operation about two hours after the incident this evening.

Bagwe, himself an active Sena worker, was shot dead today by unidentified gunmen near his residence at Four Bungalows, Andheri (West) at around 8.45 pm.

The two shooters were speeding towards Mahim when they were stopped by a police party on S V Raod near Bandra railway station around 10.45 pm. The Bandra police have recovered two Star pistols, 15 live rounds and three magazines from the motorcycle borne hitmen. The police have refused to divulge the identity of the hitmen as it might hamper investigation.

Atmaram Bagwe was walking towards the Shiv Sena shakha at Four Bungalows when three gunmen arrived in an autorickshaw and opened fire at him from close range before escaping.
