Mira Road man aboard IA aircraft
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

MUMBAI, DECEMBER 25: A Mira Road resident, Anup Sharma, is one of the passengers of the ill-fated Indian Airlines plane hijacked by militants owing allegiance to the Islamic Salvation Front.

Hariharan, PRO, Indian Airlines, told The Indian Express that according to the information available with the Indian Airlines information cell, Sharma is a sales manager with the pharmaceutical firm, Unichem Laboratories Limited. ``We did receive calls from his family seeking more information about him,'' Hariharan confirmed.

Anup Sharma, who is married with two kids, is a resident of the Silver Oak apartments in Mira Road. He had left Mumbai on December 20 for Kathmandu via New Delhi and was due to return to Mumbai on Friday. Sharma's family members had a sleepless night on Friday and were constantly glued to the television set hoping to get information about him.

When contacted, his wife refused to speak. ``All that is relevant for me to say right now is that he is one of them. I do not wish to say anything more,'' she said tearfully.
