Churchill is UK's `greatest PM of the century'
LONDON: Wartime leader Winston Churchill was picked in a BBC survey on Monday as Britain's greatest Prime Minister of the 20th century.The cigar-smoking conservative, famed for his inspirational leadership, oratory and `V for victory' sign, beat the last Liberal prime minister, David Lloyd George, into second place.
Churchill's successor, Labour's Clement Atlee, was voted the third greatest prime minister.
Egyptian held for trying to smuggle 60,000 Viagra pills
CAIRO: Airport customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle about 60,000 Viagra and sedative pills worth one million Egyptian pounds (about $ 290,000) into Egypt from Britain, airport sources have said.
They said yesterday that the officials became suspicious on Saturday when an Egyptian travel agency representative accompanying a group of British tourists appeared nervous and ill at ease.
After searching the group's belongings, officers found a bag filledwith 15,000 Viagra impotence pills and 45,000 sedative pills.
They said the man had confessed that the pills were for drug dealers intending to distribute them on new year's eve.
British bishops doubt Bible stories
LONDON: The vast majority of British bishops Anglicans, Catholics and Methodists don't believe the Bible's version of the creation of the world, according to a BBC-Radio investigation aired on Monday.
