Govt announces 2 software parks

MUMBAI, DECEMBER 28: The Democratic Front government announced on Monday the setting up of two software parks and to keep three more airports across the State open for 24 hours.

Announcing the decision Industries Minister Patangrao Kadam said the two software parks will be set up at Pune and Aurangabad at an estimated cost of Rs 37 crore and Rs 4 crore respectively. While the first will be located at the 75-acre Information Technology complex at Khardi, the second will be set up near Chikalthana with the assistance of Electronics Corporation of India.

Meanwhile, services at airports in Pune, Nashik and Kolhapur will be extended for 24 hours. The Kolhapur airport closes at 5 pm. The cost of establishing the day and night services will be borne by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
