Roy, Poulomi reign at khar Gymkhana

MUMBAI, DECEMBER 28: Eighth seed Soumyadeep Roy of Petroleum Sports Control Board Academy (PSCBA) and second seed Poulomi Ghatak of Bengal won the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the Rs 1.5-lakh Prize Money All-India Invitation table tennis tournament at Khar Gymkhana.

In the finals, Roy defeated third seeded Shibaji Datta of Railways 21-19, 15-21, 21-18, 21-12 in 40 minutes while Poulami Ghatak crushed unseeded Montu Ghosh 21-12, 21-18, 21-7 in 25 minutes.

Roy caught up with Datta at 17-all and then went on to win the game 21-18.

In the fourth game, it was Roy all the way after leading 8-4, 12-6, 15-10 and 19-12 before pocketing the title at 21-12.

The men's winner won Rs 30,000 while Poulomi took Rs 20,000.
