Gujarat stuck in Sane web
ROHIT JOSHI

AHMEDABAD, JAN 12: Leg-spinner Mandar Sane weaved a web of deceit around the Gujarat batsmen to slice through the innings as the hosts ended the day on the brink of a follow-on in the West Zone league tie at Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, on Wednesday.

The onus of saving Gujarat the ignominy of a follow-on now rests on the young shoulders of Kevin Desai, making his debut in the match and unbeaten on 29, and Lalit Patel, batting on 30. They have added 61 invaluable runs for the ninth wicket, but they need to add another 65 to make Maharashtra bat again.
