White Paper on PSUs soon -- Joshi
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

MUMBAI, JANUARY 17: The Union Government will publish a White Paper on the status of public sector units (PSUs), said Union Heavy Industries Minister and former State chief minister Manohar Joshi on Monday.

Joshi told reporters that the White Paper will deal with loss making public enterprises and disinvestment of some public units coming under the Heavy Industries Ministry. The paper on which his ministry has just begun work will be out within six months, he said adding that it was not necessary to place the White Paper in parliament though Cabinet approval would be required.

The Union minister stated that the Voluntary Separation Scheme (the public sector version of Voluntary Retirement Scheme) was receiving good response but added that his ministry has not set up a separate corpus for the same.

Earlier, Joshi, who met people at the party office, said that all the three Sena ministers in the Union Cabinet, Suresh Prabhu, Balasaheb Vikhe-Patil and himself will attend to public grievances every month atShivalaya.
