Maruti Baleno: Sleek, Silent, Spirited

Anju's post-mortem report today
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 17: The final post-mortem report of Anju, wife of Suhaib Illyasi, which was expected on Monday is likely to be received by the police on Tuesday only, a top police official said.

"The final post-mortem report of Anju is likely to be received only tomorrow," Joint Commissioner of Police R K Niyogi told PTI.

He said the police will register an FIR only after carefully going through the final post-mortem report.

However, he refused to give the reasons for the delay in the submission of the final autopsy report by the medical board. While police questioned several people connected with the case, investigators could not make headway in the absence of a conclusive autopsy report.

The three-member doctors' panel in its interim report submitted last week to the sub-divisional magistrate probing the case did not say whether the death was suicidal or homicidal and sought some clarifications and documents from the police, which were subsequently furnished.

The panel is also awaitingthe report of the viscera, which the police has sent to forensic laboratories.

Illyasi had alleged that his wife had stabbed herself following a heated argument at their east Delhi apartment on January 11 night over his close relationship with one Narender Chaddha, which was a source of discord between the couple.
