MUMBAI, JANUARY 19: Noted actor Anupam Kher's debut film Bariwali (Lady of The House), as an avant-garde producer, has been selected for the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, commencing from February 10.

The Bengali movie, directed by Rituparno Ghosh, features Kiron Kher in the pivotal role of a widow, living in abject seclusion, and near bankruptcy, trying hard to manage and maintain her family mansion. To be screened at Berlin's International Forum of New Cinema, it is based on Rituparno's original script and she has also written the film's lyrics, a spokesperson for the producer said.
