Maiden League loss for Goa's Salgaocar

Margao, Jan 19: FC Kochin handed out Salgaocar their first defeat through Liberian new recurit Eugine Gray's 10th minute strike in the fourth edition of the National Football League on Wednesday.

Tejinder Kumar, from the right, sent a goalmouth cross for Gray. He beat defender Franky Baretto and sent a firm right-footer to the net.

Kochin, who scored their second win, have 11 points from nine matches and moved to the sixth position, while Salgaocar suffered their first defeat and remained on second position with 16 points.

Mahindras held
CALCUTTA: Tollygunge Agragami held Mahindra and Mahindra 1-1.Striker Seriki Abdulateef struck the equaliser midway through the second session for the homeside after Mahindras shot into the lead just at the stroke of interval through striker M Najeeb (43rd minute).

Mahindras have 16 points, Tollygunge 13, from nine matches each.
