TMG felicitates Thane athletes

FEBRUARY 1: Thane Metropolitan Gymkhana on Tuesday felicitated sportsmen from Thane who have represented Maharashtra in the Nationals. Each of the 19 athletes received Rs 1,000, while two basketball players Shibu George and Clarence Menezes -- were awarded Rs 5,000 each.

The athletes: Dipti Vaidya (100m hurdles U-20 National champion 99), Navedita Karkekar (4x100 silver 98-99), Neeta Shetty (discus), Ruta Patkar (100m hurdles U-16 gold 98-99), Ketki Gune (heptathlon), Aparna Dhore (100m hurdles), Richa Nanivadekar (pentathlon U-16 bronze 98-99), Richa Pereira (pentathlon bronze 99), Michelle Pereira (high jump), Ketki Barve (javelin), Nagesh Shetty (800m), Ganesh Ganeshkar (3000m steeplechase), Pravin Shetty (heptathlon), Yogesh Bhangale (110m hurdles), Rahul Pandirkar (heptathlon), Dhanraj Jogi (100m hurdles), Rigved Naniwadekar (long jump), Dizney Lewis (100m), Samson Chougule (100m hurdles).
